                🐕 The Short Version: Your puppy data stays on your device by default. We only collect what's needed to make the app work, and we never sell your data.
            

1. Information We Collect

When you use NeoNest, we may collect:

Account Information: If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name to create your account.
Puppy Data: Information you enter about your puppies (names, weights, feeding logs, etc.) is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to our secure servers if you enable cloud backup.
Usage Data: Anonymous analytics to help us improve the app (crash reports, feature usage).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and maintain the NeoNest app
Sync your data across devices (if enabled)
Send important notifications about your puppies' health
Improve our app and develop new features
Respond to your support requests

3. Data Storage & Security

Your puppy data is stored locally on your device by default. If you enable cloud sync:

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
We use Google Firebase for secure cloud storage
You can delete your cloud data at any time

4. Voice & Microphone

NeoNest requests microphone access for the following optional features:

Voice Commands: You can speak to NeoNanny, our AI care assistant, using your device microphone. Audio is processed on-device by your phone's speech-to-text engine and is not sent to our servers.
Voice Responses (Optional): NeoNanny can read answers aloud using on-device text-to-speech. If you enable the premium ElevenLabs voice, short text prompts are sent to ElevenLabs servers to generate audio. No personally identifiable puppy data is included in these prompts. You can deny microphone permission at any time and still use all care features. Voice is always optional.

5. NeoNanny AI Assistant

NeoNanny is an AI care assistant that answers questions about neonatal puppy health. Here's how your data is handled:

How It Works: NeoNanny runs on a local or self-hosted AI model (Ollama). Your questions are sent over your local network to the AI service — they are not sent to cloud AI providers such as OpenAI or Google.
What Is Sent: Only the text of your question and minimal context (e.g. puppy age or weight if relevant to the question). No account information, location, or device identifiers are included.
Storage: Conversation history is kept on your device only and is not uploaded to our servers.

6. Third-Party Services

NeoNest uses the following third-party services:

Google Firebase: Authentication, cloud storage, and analytics
Google Analytics for Firebase: Anonymous usage analytics (screen views, feature usage). You can opt out in app settings.
ElevenLabs: Optional premium voice synthesis for NeoNanny (see Section 4)
On-device speech-to-text: Provided by your device OS — no third-party network calls
RevenueCat: Subscription management and payment processing. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts to verify your subscription status. No personal data (name, email, address) is shared with RevenueCat. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data
Export your puppy data
Delete your account and all associated data
Opt out of analytics

8. Children's Privacy

NeoNest is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
